Rolling Dice : What is the Most Memorable Thing to You?

Life has not been quite exciting lately. Exams are coming yet I can’t fill my mind with studying. Ok fine world cup is going, and somehow it’s hard for me to resist the urge to watch every single match which is on. Yes I know after the exams i should have plenty of time to enjoy. Still, i can’t go home this time. I have to admit, sometimes home sick is getting into me. Be strong! Sooner or later, I have to go journeying the ‘real’ life. Living without the financial support from parents anymore, without protection that they’ve always given to me for so long. I can’t imagine what might happened to me already if my dad and mom, also my lovely lil sis and bro weren’t there, loving me, though I have hurted them a lot. Yes I sure have. I can clearly recall those recollections, those words that I used to defend myself though I knew clearly I was in the wrong. Soon, I may have to depend on no other but my own. They may not be able to be with you throughout your life, but their memories will always be with you.

~Memory~

Memory may be simply defined as something that is remembered. They are unexchangeable with anything. You might have shared the same space and time with many people but ur memories will be yours only.

You can have either happy or sad memories, they are part of your life. You might just want to remember the happy ones, forgetting those who brought you sadness, despair, and pain. But sad memories are there to make you stronger, where the happy memories will be there to support you. There was time in the past, where I was in a very deep pain. ‘Kay, it’s love problem. It wasn’t the first yet it hurted much more than when i broke up with my first. I was in such despair that I wished that I could have turned back the time, that the memory hadn’t been there, so I wouldn’t need to suffer. From some perspectives, that was foolish I know. But come to think of it, it was meaningful. Now I may laugh when I remember the time. I earned a lot of experiences back there that could be essensial for my life in the future.

And so i learned through memories, many of my problems in the past coming from either being indecisive or doing things half-heartedly, having bad marks, failing on assignments, even love. “It’s impossible to turn back time. Thus, you have to make sure that what you’ve done came from your best efforts with firm heart. Hence, you won’t regret that much if you somehow fail.”

~What is the Most Memorable Thing to You?~

Everyone may have different answers on this simple question. Some people may pinpoint their answers on stuffs with materialized form, like “This pencilcase is the first present I got from my husband when we were still dating” or “this ball was in, as the winning goal of my team, when we became the champion last time”. Some other people may acknowledge certain moments as their most memorable things, like “My first kiss” or “My graduation day”.

Then, what is the most “memorable thing” to you? My answer will only be one word, that is MEMORY. Memories are things that make certain things become memorable. On materialized stuffs, they wouldn’t be so precious and memorable if not for the memories which became the stage making the stuffs becoming so important.

“This pencilcase is the first present I got from my husband when we were still dating”  – What is so important is not the pencilcase itself but the person and the memories u have with him. Because you treasure those memories, the pencilcase becomes so meaningful to you. You reminisce when you see the pencilcase.

Memories are also those who makes certain moments being worthy and memorable. The graduation day may mean nothing for some persons, but for other persons they may have become so important. Why? Because those memories they had experienced throughout the days they have shared with people before they graduating until the day. They keep on remembering those moments because of those memories they have with them.

My life may not have been that long, I’m 19 and going but still I have memories I treasure. My birthday when it was celebrated for the first time with my family and friends (that had made me so happy), my first girlfriend though it hadn’t been that long, my first rank one at school, my first time winning a competition. I even have keepsakes, like pictures of my family, friends, and happy moments, those two dolls from someone that was once, so precious, that I won’t allow anyone to get his hand on those dolls :p (remembering how she carried the big Mashimaro that takes four paper-wrappers to my relative’s house when I was staying there haha…).

Those moments aren’t returning but they will always be with you. If they are so important then you won’t forget them. Like in the movies, even characters who get amnesia will certainly get their memories back.

Then, I will recite the question, what is the most memorable thing to you? Treasure them and make sure that in your life you make a lot of wonderful memories with people around you.

P.S. : The idea actually came thanks to Nancy who brought up the topic on our chat. “What is the most memorable thing to you” actually should be on her exam tomorrow. Good luck my friend. What has encouraged me more to post something related to memory is that I’m kinda afraid of aging, leaving this laid-off life when I can play, play, play everyday. Well I know that is what a loser may want to think. But, is there anyone who has the same worry with me? LOL

Since the topic of speeching was gave to me, I was cofused…It was hard to me because I’m not used to treasure some memorable things. Because the speech was just for the exams, so I’ll not being very honest on it. Haha so I end up making story about that xD. But to tell you the truth, the most memorable thing for me is…maybe that is my photo album from my childhood. It remains me from my most happiness day. Just being a child, don’t have any worries, play all the times, srceam to get some attentions xD
