April, Month of Moving

April’s fool had been so meaningless for me since nothing foolish occured to me yesterday. At first, what crossed my mind was that it’s a syndrome of working age, but my theory was proven false. A new collueage of mine, Sumardi, told me bout how he was almost tricked by his friend that the friend’s getting married on April 31st, while another friend of his ordered Pizza for him with his name and address which costed him Rp. 43.000,-. Geez, so evil!

April on the other hand for me is really the month of moving, moving not only as in rhyme with a movement in life for better future, but very literal : moving from your current living location to another. Well. it doesn’t include me in this trend of migration, many people around me have or are going to move :

- Meke Wijaya, Jakarta to Singapore, April 1
- Ronald, Home (Tomang) to Manggis Boarding House, April 1
- William Lesmana, PPA Boarding Hourse to Orchid Boarding House, April 2, 2 AM : Don’t ask me why! It’s his weird hobby to move after midnight.
- Merisca Kandou, Jakarta to Bali, sometime in April
- Selvyna, another room in the same boarding house, sometime in April
- Hadi, another room in the same boarding house, soon
- Gunawan, Manggis B. House to Jln. Salam, April 4
- Indra and Rindy, Jakarta to Pontianak, Officially leaving the B. House in April

While the list is not complete yet since I know I’ve left out a lot, with only that list I can dramatically feel that it’s really been noticably very quiet and empty in my boarding house. Well it’s not a surprise since my neighbours either move like WIlliam and Indra, or very busy with work like Robin and Kobe, but still it’s a little saddening.

With William, I could just shout from room to room and knocked his room without any intention besides disturbing and then walked away before. Though it’s not like he’s that far away since his new boarding house is just opposite of mine, and we’re in the same office, but something will definitely change.

With Indra, it had been more taking from me that it had been lively before since we shared the air con, thus we could just shout through the hole. It had been very handy before especially when we had things to talk or even playing games like DotA ;). There were also those his funny chats with his girlfriend Rindy which time to time made me laugh a lot when I had been bored. Now they’re gone :(. I really wish you two all the best! Make sure to invite me on your highly anticipated wedding day :).

Meke is now in Singapore as well, not that far but not close enough not to be separated by distance between. It’s never expected, saddening, but indeed unavoidable. Lots of happy and sad things have happened in the time before, now it’s changed, there’ll still be all those happy and sad moments, but maybe in a very different way. Being strong is a necessity!

Well, very true that many things are lost and maybe will never be found again, but I really wish that with all these rapid changes, there’ll be also those things that we have never had the chance to experience before. Happy moving and thanks for reading this very very boring post!
